Whānau| AROHA

When children are younger, parents and family members must sacrifice their own needs and wants.  This is in many ways the definition of the Māori concept of aroha. At this point, whānau must make the best decisions that they can for their children.  This idea is beautifully illustrated by the quotes from these young mothers:

“The best thing for you is actually having a routine…your kid and you will thrive on a routine.”

“Coming here is the best thing you could do for your kid.  To be real.”

“I have one very main [reason]. OK? I’ve come here for a future for my daughter.”

Making choices for your child.
